My first professional voyage into the world of book publishing came with the LISTEN TO THE FUTURE project, of which I was the executive producer and editor. I didn't actually write the stories, but worked to assemble the entire project from start to finish, and released it into the market through my record label, A Different Drum. The project pulled together 10 short stories from talented authors, then matched up those stories with music exclusively recorded by 10 different international bands, as themes for the stories. It is a unique CD and book combination.

| My first complete novel is called TRIGGER. It is somewhat difficult for me to sum up the main points of the story, which is written as a space opera, spanning a lot of time and space. But you could say that it's a story about the huge changes forced upon humanity through the vision of a small, but rich, and brilliant company as it attempts to redeem itself from past mistakes. Can the company build a machine that will save humanity from possible extinction? Or, will their creation push humanity closer to the edge of an unavoidable destruction?

| I'm currently working on my next novel, which follows the story from TRIGGER. The book will be called POD CHILDREN, unless I think of something else along the way. I introduce some new characters and a couple new time lines. I've had a lot of fun writing it so far, but it's taking a while, since my busy life hasn't allowed me to sit and write as often as I'd like.

| I'm currently working on a fantasy book for young readers, and it's a lot of fun. I don't have to be too serious and can just run with the crazy ideas. You can read the first chapter here (unedited):

I wrote a short story for a small-time contest in 2008. It didn't win-- and I didn't feel like it should anyway, since I wasn't completely happy with it, though I liked the idea. It was the first time in a long time that I had to work within a certain word-count limit. I felt like I had to wrap it up more quickly than I wanted. Maybe I'll go back and revisit it in the future. But for now, here is the story "The Choice".
